Nice to know!
What, what what is nice to know, well it is nice to know that 50% of my guest come from South Africa and 25% from United States and the rest from around here. An artist want his or her work to be seen in other countries , it is good for exposure.
What am I doing for exposure I am going to the artfairs and have just been to the Springfair and am going to the Summerfair. And that is enough for me, as it is a lot of hard work going from the one fair to the other and not to mention the damage to the paintings if it isn't dust its little childrens sticky fingers. So therefore I have decided that this year is the last year that I will show my work on a fair. The only fair that I will do is the artfair in Balk as it is close to my home and it is only one day.
Next year I want to go to some galleries in the big cities like Leeuwarden or Groningen or Amsterdam. This gives me another year to make some paintings.
What did I do today absolutely nothing, we don't have to do things everyday so I am not embarresed so say so, to do nothing gives one time to think,relax and give one's body new energy to start new projects ect.
Yesterday was a dramatic day for art, I entrered a art competition and the two who won, were dramaticly poor, and I don't think that I will enter Talens Palet competitions again unless they get some competent jury. This prizegiving was finished within 5 minutes and everybody left within 15 minutes. It was quite a laugh as my father was worried that 2 hours for parking wouldn't be enough and when he arrived they allready started so 5 minutes later they were finished. You should have seen the look on his face, hihihihi.. When they anounced the persons name who won, first person was not even there, and they didn't even hold the painting up so that everybody could see what the painting looked like and when they announced the winner they nearly forgot to read out the juries report and when somebody eventually asked where the painting was they just pointed to the wall and 50% couldn't see. Now were they embaressed to show the paintings or what was going on. Thirty minutes later we" the four of us" were still eating snacks and drinking drinks as it would be a shame to let is all go to waste.
Well this week is a new week with new happenings and I will let you know all about it, if it is bad or good, you will get the news.
